HELP WITH YOUR PERSONAL UTR
If we're acting as your agent for your self assessment tax return, we'll need your UTR. Your personal UTR is a 10 digit code, its different from your limited company UTR

This is a 10 digit code that would have been issues to you when you registered for a self assessment.

You can find your individual UTR number:

in your Personal Tax Account
-
in the HMRC app
-
on previous tax returns and other documents from HMRC (for example, notices to file a return or payment reminders)
If you cannot find your UTR on any documents or online, contact HMRC.

HELP WITH YOUR AUTHENTICATION CODE
If we're acting as your agent for your limited company accounts, we'll need your Companies House Authentication Code, Its a 6 digit alphanumeric code.

Companies House will send your authentication code to your registered address when you incorporate your company.​


If this letter has been misplaced then you can request a new one through Companies House.
​
If you no longer have access to your company's registered address you can request your authentication code to be sent to your home address here.

If you're still not not able to obtain your authentication code, contact Companies House.

HELP WITH YOUR COMPANY UTR
If we're acting as your agent for your corporation tax, we'll need your Company UTR.
Your company UTR is a 10 digit code, its different from your personal UTR

You don't need to register for corporation tax straight away but you will need to register within 3 months of starting any business activity.
​​
HMRC will send your company UTR to your registered address when you register your company for corporation tax.​


If this letter has been misplaced then you can request a copy through Gov.uk.
​
You can also find your company UTR by logging into your HMRC Business account. ​
​
If you still to register for corporation tax you'll need to follow the HMRC steps.​​
​
If you cannot find your company UTR on any documents or online, contact HMRC.

HELP WITH YOUR VAT INFORMATION
If we're acting as your agent for your VAT, we'll need your VAT number and registration date.​
​
If you are registered for VAT then your VAT number should be on all the invoices or receipts you give to your customers.
​​
You can find the VAT number and registration date on your VAT Certificate, which can be accessed via your VAT online account.​


If you are having trouble accessing your VAT registration certificate, contact HMRC.

HELP WITH YOUR PAYE & ACCOUNTS OFFICE REFERENCE
If we're acting as your agent for PAYE, we'll need your PAYE Reference and Accounts Office Reference.​
​
The PAYE Reference number consists of two parts: a three digit HMRC Office Number, and a reference number that is unique to you. It looks something like 123/A56789.
​​
You can find both the PAYE Reference and Accounts Office Reference on the letter that HMRC sent you when you registered as an employer.​


Alternatively, when you registered for PAYE you may have created a PAYE Online account which you can login to find these details.

If you aren't yet registered then you'll need to register as an employer with HMRC.
​​
